Notice of Changes to CDC Regulations on Rabies Quarantine for Entry into the US

We would like to inform you of the updated regulations by the CDC regarding the entry of pets (dogs) into the United States. 

Please review these changes if you are traveling with your pet. 

*Excludes cats and birds


1. Effective Date: 

- Passengers traveling with pets/service dogs to the United States on or after August 1, 2024


2. Changes in Regulations:

- 1) Mandatory Requirements:

   A. Dogs must be at least 6 months old.

   B. Dogs must have an ISO-compatible microchip. 

   C. Approved CDC Dog Import Form receipt (link).


- 2) Additional Documentation:

   - Requirements vary based on countries visited and vaccination status in the last 6 months.
   - Check the CDC website for details.

- CDC Dog Import Form approved receipt

U.S. International Airports

High-Risk Countries

United States

- CDC Dog Import Form approved receipt

- Valid U.S.-issued rabies vaccination certificate

Outside the United States

- CDC Dog Import Form approved receipt

- Valid rabies vaccination certificate

- CDC-approved titer test results from an approved laboratory

- Pre-booking at a designated facility
