Special baggage

Special baggage should be of 32kg or less in weight, with the sum of the three sides being 292cm or less.
Special baggage is different in shape and size from regular baggage, and therefore is prone to being bent or damaged during transport. Such items falling under the category of special baggage must be securely packaged in a dedicated hard case or a box filled with buffer material for them to be checked in.
Sports equipment other than golf bags, snow boards, snow ski (e.g. water ski equipment, surfing boards, wind surfing or scuba-diving equipment, bicycles and hockey equipment) shall be considered one piece of checked-in baggage. If the sum of the three sides is 292cm or less, a surcharge will not have to be paid. But if the weight and piece are in excess of the free allowance, a surcharge will have to be paid.
Regardless of the free baggage allowance, an additional handling fee of 10,000 won will be charged. (Not applicable to golf bags, snow boards, snow ski)
Please take note that if special baggage that is inappropriately packaged is damaged, no compensation shall be offered.

Golf equipment

For the sum of the weight of one golf bag and one regular suitcase will have the allowance for one piece of free checked-in baggage of a given ticket class applied.
Example) If a passenger with an allowance for one piece (23kg) of free baggage allowance also checks in one golf bag
The sum of one golf bag+one regular suitcase is 23kg or less: Treated as one piece of checked-in baggage
The sum of one golf bag+one regular suitcase is 32kg or less: Treated as one piece of checked-in baggage but if the weight exceeds the maximum, a surcharge must be paid
The sum of one golf bag+one regular suitcase is more than 32kg and up to 45kg: Treated as two pieces of checked-in baggage

“One air container+One scuba-diving equipment bag” are treated as one piece of checked-in baggage.
For the scuba-diving equipment, the air container must be completely empty, while the tank must be open to allow for an inspection of the interior with the naked eye.
Under-water lanterns may be brought inside the cabin as carry-on baggage. The battery must be taken out. Whether the separated battery can be transported will follow the rules of Air Premia.

Spare lithium batteries or auxiliary batteries cannot be transported as checked-in baggage.

For bicycles, the handles should be fixed firmly and the pedals removed before being packaged in a dedicated case or paper box filled with shock-absorbing fillers.
Bicycles with engines attached, motorcycles or jet skis cannot be transported as baggage.

“One fishing rod bag + One Tackle Box” are treated as one piece of checked-in baggage.

“One equipment bag+One stick” are treated as one piece of checked-in baggage.
In cases where a stick is checked in without an equipment bag, it is still treated as one piece of checked in baggage.

Small musical instruments whose sum of the three sides is 115cm or smaller and within the allowance for carry-on baggage may be brought inside the cabin. (However, it must fit into the overhead bin)
For large musical instruments with the sum of the three sides exceeding 115cm, an additional seat must be purchased for them to be brought into the cabin.
Please inquire through the Air Premia Reservations regarding the purchase of an additional seat for the instrument.

Due to the high likelihood of damage, we recommend that musical instruments be brought on board as carry-on baggage or by purchasing an additional seat.
If the allowance for the total number of pieces, size or weight of free baggage is exceeded, a surcharge must be paid.
When sending the item as checked-in baggage, download the form for the pledge on the transport of special baggage, fill it out and submit to the employee at the check-in counter.

When checking in a high value item, you may purchase damage insurance up to the value you’ve declared, by paying an additional fee.
We waive all liability regarding the loss or damage of items sent as checked-in baggage, beyond the scope designated by the terms and conditions of transportation.
The maximum value declared is capped at USD 2,500. Documents that prove the value of the item must also be presented.
The fees charged for declaring high value items are USD 0.5 per every USD 100 of the item value.
